Kluani - Ash Sculpture
Falling Ash Collection
Ash trees have been a part of our forest landscape for a millennia, they are now disappearing by the billions across North America, because of the Emerald Ash Borer, a native to Asia. It was thought to have been introduced to our forest’s by infected imported wood products. no natural enemies exist, once a tree is infested it percentage of death rate is 100%.
Falling Ash Collection, is a tribute to this devastation, once these trees are gone you will not see them again in our lifetime.
I have sculpted each piece in a manner which allows the energy which once flowed freely in the living tree, to continue its circular journey.
Handcrafted, CREII Sculptures are unique in size, shape and texture. Carved from a single piece of ash, these sculptures highlight the beauty found in natural imperfection while respecting the nature of the material and the traditional craft.

This one is 60” Tall (priced individually - If interested in a grouping, please contact me for a consolidated price.

NOTE: Cracks are not defects but a naturally occurring result of the constant movement of wood which only enhances the patina with age.

Hand sculpted: Each Creii sculpture has been shaped by hand from a single piece of wood in a manner which honours the rawness and irregularity of the chosen wood. I revel in the litte imperfections that give hand-touched work its distinctive character. It is our hope that this object is one day passed on as a beloved heirloom, an heirloom which comes with generations of stories of living life to its fullest.
