Kask Wenge Tray
Made from a solid piece of salvaged wenge, a now endangered species of wood, it is native to swampy areas of Africa, this small antipasti tray retains the undulations from the carving process, these imperfections enhance the subtle soft warmth of the wood, and create a visually appealing backdrop for what ever you choose to serve or hold with in them.
Pls note I only work with exotic woods when I have salvaged them from an old piece of furniture or construction demolition.
Finished with our food safe organic oil & beeswax, it will continue to loft “tiny fibers of the wood lift” this is a natural process, and with time and use these little fibers wear off, leaving the piece smooth.
