SOLD Hiragana Catalpa Platter
This multi-purpose salad/pasta/charcuterie serving bowl, also doubles as a stunning decor piece. Made from the soft and supple catalpa, it is a somewhat underrated hardwood, not seen too often in lumber form. Unlike most other common carving woods, such as butternut or basswood, catalpa is resistant to decay, and is more suited to outdoor carvings than other domestic species…. and for this very reason, it will stand up to pretty much any thing you want to throw at it in the kitchen….
If this is sold already send me a sweet email, I will go on the hunt for another stump to make you your very own custom bowl that will be as unique as you.

Hand sculpted: Each Creii table top object has been hand sculpted from a single piece of wood in a manner which honours the rawness and irregularity of the chosen wood. We revel in the litte imperfections that give hand-touched work its distinctive character. It is our hope that this object becomes used on a daily bases in your home and is one day passed on as a beloved heirloom, an heirloom which comes with generations of stories of living life to its fullest.
Species: Catalpa
Maintenance: Although each object has been treated with food grade oil and wax, they will continue to loft “raised fibers” this is naturally occuring process. The more you use the board, these fibers eventually wear completly away leaving a buttery smooth feeling. Every once in a while show your wood kitchen items some “WOOD LOVE” clean them with a leamon and sea salt. Simply sprinkle the sea salt on the board, cut the lemon in half, squeezing some of the lemon onto the board, then using the half lemon scrub the board or bowl, once finished rinse with cool water. After the bowl has dried use our “Wood Love” or Coconut oil to rehydrate the wood. We don’t recommend vegtable or olive oils as they can become rancid over time. NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER put your beautiful wood products in the dishwasher!!!! or soak them in water as this can cause them to crack.
Plant a Tree: We are proud partners of “One Tree” so when you purchase this object, we plant a tree on your behalf, so that future generations can enjoy this beautiful planet we all get to call home.
Locally Sourced - Sustainable - Salvaged - NOT JUST A PLANK OF WOOD, BUT AN OBJECT OF SLOW LIVING
