100 Ahrens St. W
Cafe
The Ahrens Street W brief was very simple; create a space that no one had seen before, a space which could visually articulate the powerful, yet delicate intertwined relationship of a Tiger and a Dove, the company logo, a space that was well crafted, honest with perfect balance.
Nestled inside a building from the “Roaring 20s” a decade of prosperity and dissipation , we drew our inspiration from that era. The interior palette was carefully curated with warm finishes set against the industrial refined blackened steel beams. Each piece of furniture was designed and built to invite relaxation, calm, a space to stop and escape the hectic rigors of the day.
An important component for the owners of the Ahrens Street W project was to utilize reclaimed material where every possible during the build. We accomplished this with each piece of furniture being crafted from wood and steel which was salvaged from the original Bauer factory built in the 1800’s.

Client Testimonial
What can I say about my experience with Form Design. From the start, it was a collaboration that was not just respectful and professional; but a joy. I’ve worked with several trades and have had great relationships with them but Mary went above expectation. I always enjoyed vising her studio workshop and listening to her enthusiastically show me all the new materials she was working with. She made her workplace a welcome place. When it came down to getting things done, she was flexible when I had changes to original ideas, It’s important for me that a trade partner can have sensibility to respond to a clients changes with a smile. Mary, is not your typical designer, she has an uncanny ability to listen and then transpire a project beyond anything you can imagine, she is a true “Maker” who gently engages you throughout the journey to realize your vision. Thanks Mary.
