For this project, the objective was to bring warmth and balance into a newly renovated kitchen. The challenge was space, so I designed and created a solid carved walnut table which, although small was open, light and shaped and carved to present a artistic piece which invited touch and would draw and eye to the details.

After delivering the table, the client was so thrilled that I was asked to build an entry way credenza. I did the drawings and suggested that we build a dry bar so it could provide two functions. Built using solid 7/8” walnut, I finished the inside with mirror and glass shelves, while the handle I carved with the same texture which I had done on the base of the table.

While I was in the process of building the cabinet, my client messaged me and asked me to design and build a coffee table, utilizing the old piece of stone which had been the kitchen table, hence the evolution of the coffee table.

When I delivered the coffee table, I presented my client with a bowl which I carved from the cut off piece of walnut which I built the kitchen table from.

It is important to me to always create objects which are as unique as the client who has commissioned my services.

Project Scope: Design and build a 5’ kitchen table, an entry way credenza, and a coffee table

Client Testimonial

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary to discuss a kitchen table that was a custom size. I went to her shop where she took me through her process of creating custom family heirlooms that you will pass on from generation to generation.

I was so thrilled with my beautiful solid walnut kitchen table that I immediately asked her to make me a front entrance armoire.
