This project took on an organic evolution, what began as a request from the builder to supply a fireplace mantel, soon evolved into an expanded scope which included the design and build of several pieces for this new home.

It was a special treat to be entrusted with a family heirloom for the purpose of breathing new life into it….Any time I can re-invent existing client pieces I do, often they are built from solid wood and were crafted by very skilled wood workers. As much as 97% of furniture made today used particleboard, MDF, plywood covered with veneers.

Builder: Thomas Cochran Homes is based in Waterdown Ontario, are amongst the best builders in not only Ontario, but Canada having been the recipients of many builder awards over the years. It is such an honour to work on their projects as they allow me creative freedom to do what I do best.
