I was commissioned by Thomas Cochren Homes, to design and build the entry way feature wall in this stunning west coast style home which is filled with west coast fir, giving it such a modern relaxed vibe. The feature wall would incorporate the ancient Japanese technique called yakisugi, or some will refer to as Sou Sugi Ban. This tecture is accomplished through a buring, brushing, washing process to achieve the desired visual results.

All milling must be complete prior to the buring, so a lot of detail must go into the detail spec as you can not make cuts at the install phase.
